Nonnies Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

1 C sugar

½ C sour milk

( add 1 Tsp vinegar to milk and

let stand until milk curdles)

1 tsp soda

1 C raisins, softened in hot water

2 C flour

1 C shortening

2 eggs

1 tsp nutmeg

1 C oatmeal, quick cooking

¼ C chopped nuts

Directions

Cream butter, sugar and eggs, milk, dry ingredients and mix well

Add raisins, oatmeal & nuts

Drop by tsp onto cookie sheet bake until raised and springy when lightly touched 8-10 minutes @ 350.

Do not overbake. The edges should just be turning golden when completely done.
