Tempeh Bacon 1 Recipe

Tempeh Bacon is for those who want that bacon flavor without the meat. Now you can have a guilty free BLT.

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons tamari (soy sauce)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoons honey garlic powder to taste
- 1tablespoons smoke flavor
- 200g tempeh, cut in thin slices
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Can add sugar to make it sweeter if you like.
Directions
- Combine first 5 ingredients to make the marinade.
- Put tempeh slices in shallow dish and pour the marinade on top. Marinate for 4-8 hours. (I like to do this over night) Shake now and then.
- Fry the tempeh in the hot oil until brown and crisp.
- Enjoy

Tempeh (a fermented soybean product) is found near the tofu in the dairy case of most Henrys, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Wild oats and such. It now comes in lots of flavors and is made by Turtle Island (makers of Tofurky), Yves and Lightlife. You either like it or you dont. You can use extra firm tofu for this bacon recipe and it comes out fine.
