Beef Patties Italienne

- 1 slice French bread shopping list
- water shopping list
- 1 1/4 lbs. lean ground beef shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped onions shopping list
- 1 large clove garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- Dash pepper shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves shopping list
- 2 tablespoons grated romano cheese shopping list
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley shopping list
- 1 tablespoon oil shopping list
- ------red wine Sauce-------- shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions, white parts only shopping list
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms shopping list
- 1/3 cup dry red wine shopping list
- 1/2 cup beef broth shopping list
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 tablespoons water shopping list
- alt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Soak bread in water until soft. Squeeze dry.
- Mix bread, ground beef, onion, garlic, egg, alt, pepper, oregano, cheese and parsley. Blend well.
- Shape mixture into 4 thick patties.
- Heat oil in large skillet.
- Add patties. Cook about 5minutes on each side for medium. Remove to platter. Keep warm.
- Add green onions to pan drippings. Saute briefly. Add mushrooms. Saute for a few minutes.
- Add red wine to pan. Stir up brown bits from bottom of pan. Stir in broth.
- Combine flour and water. Add to pan. Cook and stir until smooth and thickened. Season to taste.
- Spoon sauce over meat patties and serve.
