How to make it

  • In a large-sized bowl, add ground beef, parsley, minced garlic, chopped onion. Mix all together with hands.
  • Add salt, pepper, parmesan cheese, and milk to the beaten egg mixture, then pour into meat and mix well with hands.
  • Heat enough oil to emerge meatballs halfway into, then form meatballs and add to the heated oil. Cook until browned and then place on sheets of cloth or paper towels to absorb any extra oil.
  • If you plan to serve them with sauce, only cook halfway through and then add to boiling tomato sauce. Allow to finish cooking in the sauce.
  • If desired, you can also add carrots, chopped finely, to the meatballs which my grandmother did often. I believe it helped the meatballs to retain moisture.

My Italian grand parents passed down a recipe just like this one.
I know this like the back of my hand.
Sometimes I add Pine nuts to change it up a bit.
    Great post

Thank heaven for 'little' Italian grandmothers.
Thanks for sharing her recipe. Nothing better in the world than a big bowl of spaghetti and meatballs.
