Pumpkin Bread Recipe

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups all purpose flour

3 cups sugar

2 teaspoons soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1 can pumpkin

4 eggs, well beaten

1 cup cooking oil

2/3 cup water

2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

In a large bowl sift first 6 ingredients together

add remaining igredients and stir well

You may also add nuts and raisins or coconut as they are optional

I add all of them to mine

Pour into greased and floured loaf pans or can use coffee cans

and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hours..

If you coffee cans fill just a little more than half full

Zena, so sorry I just put this on, and when I viewed it I saw similar recipes on the side, so I pulled it up and ours are have the exact ingredients only different amounts, very sorry about that. Is there a way for me to delete mine? I usually do a search before I post, but this time I didn't.

I love pumpkin but so far i have only made a pumpkin cake - this sounds like it would be very good - of course like with any bread warm from the oven you need lots of butter - thanks for a great recipe - carol lee
