Peruvian Aji Sauce
From dee 17 years agoIngredients
- 1/4 head of lettuce, torn into pieces (iceberg is fine, romaine is better) shopping list
- 3 jalapeno chiles, seeds and veins removed shopping list
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise shopping list
- 5 green onions shopping list
- 1/2 bunch of cilantro leaves (try to avoid the stems) shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp black pepper shopping list
- 1 tsp garlic powder shopping list
How to make it
- Put all ingredients into a blender or food processor and process until smooth. It should come out bright green in colour.
- Dee's Tips: I have seen it made up and put into a squeezy bottle like you'd use for mustard and just set on the table to use as you will. Serve it with Cuban Bread or some other really nice full bodied bread. We have used it as a chutney/sauce with a steak and it was GREAT then too. Serve it with your fav crisps/chip, Dorito, or use as a sauce in a Veg taco or sandwich.. the ideas are only limited by ones Imagination! Go crazy with it! Enjoy!
