How to make it

  • Cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Note: adding 2-3 Tbsp olive oil to the pasta water can reduce foaming and sticking.
  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • Drain macaroni well and place in large mixing bowl.
  • Add grated cheese, beaten eggs, milk, salt and pepper.
  • Blend thoroughly.
  • Pour mixture into butter coated 9x12x2 casserole dish.
  • Place cheese slices on top to completely cover the mixture.
  • Place in hot oven and bake until cheese topping starts to brown at peaks.
  • Remove from oven and rest 5-10 minutes prior to serving.
