Mimmies Best Macaroni Pie

- 16 oz elbow macaroni, uncooked shopping list
- 16 oz sharp cheddar cheese, grated shopping list
- 1–1 ½ lb sharp cheddar cheese, sliced shopping list
- 4 eggs, beaten shopping list
- ½ cup whole milk shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- ½ tsp ground black pepper shopping list
- butter to grease pan shopping list
How to make it
- Cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Note: adding 2-3 Tbsp olive oil to the pasta water can reduce foaming and sticking.
- Preheat oven to 400.
- Drain macaroni well and place in large mixing bowl.
- Add grated cheese, beaten eggs, milk, salt and pepper.
- Blend thoroughly.
- Pour mixture into butter coated 9x12x2 casserole dish.
- Place cheese slices on top to completely cover the mixture.
- Place in hot oven and bake until cheese topping starts to brown at peaks.
- Remove from oven and rest 5-10 minutes prior to serving.
