This is the easiest way I have ever made dressing. Even though I have other recipes posted for yummy dressing this is the only one my family will let me make now. I have to make two pots full too. I have no idea where I got this recipe. I just know ... More

Ingredients
- 1/2 C. butter or margarine (1 stick)
- 1 C. finely chopped onion
- 1 C. finely chopped celery
- 1/4 C. minced parsley
- 1 1/2 to 2 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1/2 tsp.salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 6 C. crumbled cornbread
- 2 eggs well beaten
- 1 1/2 C. chicken broth
Directions
- Melt butter in skillet.
- Add onion and celery and sautee until tender.
- Put crumbled corn bread into a large bowl.
- Combine seasonings and sprinkle over cornbread.
- Add eggs,broth and onion mixture.If you like a moist dressing more broth may be used.
- Spoon mixture into crock pot,cover and set on high for 1 hour then reduce heat to low and cook for 2 hours.

grown boys and they all want to take home some and so I make alot. The recipe sounds like the one I make in the oven, but having a free oven will be wonderful. Also, does it hold it's shape when served, or is it crumbly dry? Thanks for helping me out.

OH this was soooo good. I have never made dressing before and it was so easy. I made a trial run (before Thanksgiving) in a little crock pot (I just 1/2 this recipe) and my husband was fighting me for it! The only thing I did was add sage (oh and left out the celery...I don't like it).
