Everything-but-the-kitchen-sink-chicken Recipe
all i had was chicken - and a larder and fridge full with half-used stuff. so - it went into the chicken. cooked it at night to be ready for today's painting of the kitchen. tasted it this morning. hmmmm. surprise! it does taste good.

Ingredients
  • chicken pieces, thigh and drumstick
  • some leftover white white wine, about 1 cup
  • some orange liqeur, about 1 cup
  • chicken broth, about 1 cup
  • tomatoe sauce with herbs, about 2 cups
  • chunky tomatoes, 1 whole ! can
  • sun-dried tomatoes, a handful
  • black and green olives, about a small handful each
  • red onions, 2
  • white onions, 2
  • red bell pepper, 1 large
  • garlic, 2 cloves
  • slivers of carrot, from 2 carrots
  • liquefied honey, about 1 TBSP
  • tomato puree, about 1 TBSP
  • pepper
  • salt
  • some chili flakes, about 1 eggspoon
  • olive oil, about 1 TBSP
  • a bunch of italian herbs, cut right off the bushes on my terrace

Directions
  1. fry chicken pieces in olive oil, rubbing some flavour sea-salt into chicken and some white pepper
  2. remove from pan
  3. fry onions chunks, and all vegetables,
  4. adding one after the other,
  5. garlic being the last,
  6. then add the herbs.
  7. pour in white wine and orange liqeur, flambé
  8. (burn off the alcohol, gives a better taste)
  9. now pour in sauce,puree, chunky tomatoes,
  10. stirring all the time
  11. add honey, olives,
  12. pepper, salt, chili flakes.
  13. stirr
  14. put chicken into pan, reduce heat,
  15. cover (to reduce spatters on the kitchen walls, the stove, etc.:-)
  16. before serving, remove cover to reduce the liquid.
  17. serve with whatever you like - i would use crusty italian bread

Isn't it amazing that some of the best recipes aren't really recipes at all? Some are just thrown together and taste awesome-like this one.You sound like me,I love to experiment.Thanks for a great post-I will try it out soon.
