How to make it

  • In a bowl, dissolve 2 tablespoons of sugar in the coffee. Refrigerate.
  • In a food processor, process the ricotta, cream cheese, and Kahlua until very smooth. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the egg whites to soft peaks.
  • Gradually add the remaining sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  • Fold the cheese mixture into the egg whites.
  • Dip the ladyfingers in the coffee until they are soaked through.
  • Line the bottom of a 12-cup bowl with half the ladyfingers.
  • Cover with half of the cheese mixture.
  • Lay the remaining ladyfingers on the cheese mixture.
  • Top with the remaining cheese mixture.
  • Dust with cocoa powder.
  • Chill 2 hours before serving.

Love tiramisu, is my favorite. Usually make the traditional full fat but not very often because of that. Can't wait to try this version, maybe have it more often!

Great post, thanks! My mom makes the best tiramisu in the world, but it's so rich & heavy you can't eat more than a few bites. This sounds wonderful - but I wonder how she'd take it if I e-mailed her the recipe?!
