Cinnamon Swirl Loaf

- 1 pkg active dry yeast shopping list
- 1/4 cup warm water shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 3/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups all purpose flour, plus more for your board shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 3/4 cup raisins shopping list
- 1 Tbs cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- In a mixing bowl, sprinkle yeast over warm water.
- Heat milk, 1/4 cup of the sugar, butter and salt to 110F; add to the yeast mixture with 1-1/2 cups of the flour, egg and raisins. Beat for 3 minutes; stir in 1 cup more flour.
- Turn out on a floured board; knead for 5 minutes.
- Place in a greased bowl; cover and let rise until doubled, approximately 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough; roll out into a 9 by 18 inch rectangle. Mix remaining 1/4 cup sugar with the cinnamon; sprinkle over dough. Starting at narrow end, tightly roll up. Place in a greased 9 by 5 inch loaf pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, approximately 1 hour.
- Bake in a 350F oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
- Makes 1 loaf.
