Cinnamon Swirl Loaf Recipe

Ingredients

1 pkg active dry yeast

1/4 cup warm water

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup butter

3/4 tsp salt

2-1/2 cups all purpose flour, plus more for your board

1 egg

3/4 cup raisins

1 Tbs cinnamon

Directions

In a mixing bowl, sprinkle yeast over warm water.

Heat milk, 1/4 cup of the sugar, butter and salt to 110F; add to the yeast mixture with 1-1/2 cups of the flour, egg and raisins. Beat for 3 minutes; stir in 1 cup more flour.

Turn out on a floured board; knead for 5 minutes.

Place in a greased bowl; cover and let rise until doubled, approximately 1 hour.

Punch down the dough; roll out into a 9 by 18 inch rectangle. Mix remaining 1/4 cup sugar with the cinnamon; sprinkle over dough. Starting at narrow end, tightly roll up. Place in a greased 9 by 5 inch loaf pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, approximately 1 hour.

Bake in a 350F oven for 40 to 45 minutes.

Makes 1 loaf.
