Apple Fritters Recipe

Ingredients

2 C. flour

¼ C. sugar

1 ½ T. baking powder

½ tsp salt

1 C. milk

2 egg

4-5 tart apples

¼ C. sugar

4 tsp cinnamon

Directions

Sift first 4 ingredients twice.

Add milk and well beaten eggs. Mix well.

Mix ¼ C. sugar with cinnamon in bowl.

Pare and core apples. Cut in ½” rings.

Dip each slice in cinnamon-sugar, then in batter and fry in deep, hot fat until brown.

Drain on absorbent paper.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Fixed this for a dessert last night. I used to work in a Cafeteria on a college campus. We had Apple Fritters one time during the 2 years I worked there. the ones we had were frozen, pre-made fritters, where all u had to do was put them in the fryer. They were deliscious. Anyway, I've been wanting to cook these at home for quite awhile. Decided to try this recipe last night. Fixed them for myself and my parents. They were a big hit.
