Ingredients

How to make it

  • On a cutting board, mash the minced or pressed garlic cloves and 1 teaspoon of kosher salt to a paste using the flat end of a knife (or bowl of a wooden spoon).
  • Scrape the paste into a bowl and add the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard.
  • Gradually whisk in the olive oil.
  • Stir in the lemon juice and season with salt. Serve chilled as a spread
  • -------------------------.
  • Note: The aioli should be kept refrigerated. (All commercial mayonnaise should be refrigerated after opening.) If you refrigerate this spread overnight before serving, the flavors will blend together more smoothly.

Sounds like a great condiment (if I may call it that) for a sub, as you say. Thanks for the post.

You've got me going to Wikipedia more that any other foodie. Thanks for expanding my vocabulary.
(I didn't know if this recipe was Hawaiian or a yodel.)
