How to make it

  • Thaw pastry sheet at room temp for 30 min. Mix egg and water. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Mean while make cheese sauce:
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan over med heat. Add flour and garlic pepper and cook, stirring constantly, until bubbly and golden, about 2 min.
  • Whisk in about 1/3 of the milk and bring to a simmer. Repeat twice more with remaining milk, continuing to whisk as sauce thickens.
  • Whisk in cheese and heat through. If sauce is too thick, add a little more milk.
  • Mix about ½ C. cheese sauce with broccoli.
  • Sandwiches:
  • Unfold pastry on lightly floured surface. Roll into 14" square and cut into 4 (7") squares. Place 1 slice ham and turkey on each square, top with ¼ of broccoli and cheese.
  • Brush edges of squares with egg mixture.
  • Fold one side to top and fold ends in, then bring other side up make sure they are sealed. Place seam-side down on baking sheet. Brush with egg mixture.
  • Bake 25 min. or until golden.
  • Serve with remaining cheese sauce if desired.
