Smothered Steaks And Bell Peppers Recipe

Ingredients

4 beef cube steaks, about 5 oz. each

1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt

1/2 teaspoon course ground black pepper

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1/2 cup green bell pepper, sliced

1/2 cup red bell pepper, sliced

1 small onion, sliced

2 tablespoons all purpose flour

1/2 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

2 cups cooked rice

Directions

Sprinkle steaks with salt and pepper. Brown steaks in hot oil in large nonstick skillet over medium high heat 3 minutes on each side remove and keep warm.

Saute onions and bell peppers.

Blend together flour, soy sauce and 1 cup water, pour over onions and bell peppers.

Cook and stir until sauce boils and thickens.

Spoon over steaks, sprinkle with parsley.

Serve with rice.

Dixie, OK! You got my attention AGAIN! This is another big 5 in my book. Can't wait to try it. One problem, never see any "cube steaks" in the markets here. Is there another name for them for another variety of steak that would work as well. Please don't say round steak. - Susana
