How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 325.
  • In food processor stir together flours, barley, sugar and salt.
  • Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  • Add enough of the milk to form dough that will hold together in a cohesive ball.
  • Divide dough into 2 equal portions for rolling then on a floured surface or pastry cloth.
  • Roll out to 1/4" and cut into 2" circles or squares and place on lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Prick each cracker in 3 places with tines of a fork and bake 25 minutes then cool on wire rack.

    These are unusual so I'm going to try 'em. I'd say they are more like a cracker than a chip. Am I correct in thinking this. Thanks for posting
