Fideo Mexican Spaghetti

- 1 8-oz. pkg. of Fideo (look in Mexican food isle of grocery store) shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. of ground cumin shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. of garlic salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp of pepper shopping list
- 1 chicken bullion cube shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. of dried oregano shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. of onion powder shopping list
- 2 garlic cloves minced shopping list
- 1/2 a small onion chopped shopping list
- 1 8-oz. can of tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 cup of thickly shredded, cooked chicken shopping list
- 3 1/2 cups of water (or more if needed) shopping list
- *dash of white pepper if you want it a little spicy. shopping list
How to make it
- Brown the Fideo in a large pan with the oil, minced garlic and onion until Fideo is browned & onion is clear, stirring often.
- Add 1/2 a can of tomato sauce, 3- cups of water, chicken and spices.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer til liquid is almost evaporated.
- Add remaining water & tomato sauce & cook until fideo is tender.
- *At this point you can add more water if you like it more soupy
- & more of the seasonings if you like it a little spicy (including white pepper) and if you REALLY want a kick, chop a jalapeno in 1/2 and de-seed or leave in the seeds (your choice) for real hotness & let it cook with the fideo. Take out afterwards.
