Ingredients

How to make it

  • Melt butter in a Dutch oven and sauté/sweat onion and mushrooms until all liquid is gone. Add shellfish and fish and stir until well combined.
  • Remove from heat and add parsley, ricotta, eggs, salt, and pepper and mix well.
  • Preheat oven to 400F
  • Butter a large baking sheet (use a nonstick one?).
  • Place 2 sheets of phyllo pastry on the baking sheet and cover the rest with a damp cloth to prevent drying while making each pastry. Brush one pastry lightly with melted butter out to edges Spoon seafood mixture in a long even shape down center of pastry; carefully fold pastry and roll into a strudel. Tuck ends under and brush with butter.
  • Repeat with the remaining phyllo sheets.
  • Reduce oven heat to 375F and bake strudel for 30 minutes, until top is browned. Brush top with butter twice during baking.
  • Cool slightly, slice, and serve with Lemony Cream Sauce.

OMG, Woods Hole! I bore my friends and relatives with stories from the summer I spent there taking a class at MBL. Unfortunately I didn't get to sample this dish while I was there, but it sounds good.
