Ingredients

How to make it

  • Halve the cucumbers, scoop out the seeds, and thinly slice. Put into a deep sealable bowl.
  • In a small sauce pan combine vinegar, sugar, water, onion, salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil, stirring till sugar is dissolved.
  • Pour over cucumbers. Let cool.
  • Stir in dill and parsely, seal, and refrigerate overnight.
  • Note: I like to use sliced onion because it looks nicer with the cucumber halves, but some prefer it more finely chopped.

This is a german recipe no doubt! .... one from the old country. My german mother always made this and I have always loved it. She used red onions in it and it was always gobbled up! I love old world cooking! Delish...!!
