Ingredients

Ormskirk Gingerbread

---------------------------

Two pounds flour,

one pound butter,

one-half pound sifted oatmeal,

three-quarters of a pound of moist sugar, one ounce ginger,

the same of citrus and candied orange peel,

all mixed together; then add one pound of treacle*.

Directions

The whole should be mixed the day before it is intended to be baked.

In a regular gingerbread pan floured and larded this took 35 minutes in a 350 degree oven. It made 2 pans.
