Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 c. cooking oil (Wesson)
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 lg. apples, cut into sm. pieces
  • SAUCE FOR APPLE POUND CAKE:
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 tsp. milk
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar

Directions
  1. Combine the oil, sugar and eggs and beat for three minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, soda and vanilla.
  3. Fold in apples.
  4. Bake in greased tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20-30 minutes.
  5. Cool and pour on sauce.
  6. SAUCE FOR APPLE POUND CAKE:
  7. Cook all ingredients about 15 minutes. Pour on cake.

Fantastic recipe. I love apple cakes ever since my mom made one from a recipe she got at the apple orchard she worked at in New Hampshire.


Now this is a different pound cake,sounds delicious.Apple desserts are among my favorite.
