Ingredients
  • 1/2 Cup butter (one quarter pound stick)
  • 1/2 Cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspn ground cinnamon
  • 3 Tablspns water
  • 1 Cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 Cup pecans, chopped
  • --------
  • 4 large cooking apples, about 6 Cups when peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 Cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 teaspn ground cinnamon
  • --------
  • 2 oz. of caramel dip for apples, sold in produce dept, or any caramel ice cream topping

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In medium size mixing bowl, stir butter and brown sugar together. (I melt the butter in the microwave.) Then stir in 1 t cinnamon and water, then the flour. Stir in the pecans.
  3. Mound apples in a 9 inch glass pie plate. Mix together the white sugar and 1 t cinnamon, sprinkle it over the apples. Spoon the pecan-flour mixture over apples in dollops.
  4. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, until apples are tender to a poke with a knife.
  5. Immediately out of the oven, drizzle on warmed caramel topping.
  6. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
