How to make it

  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, oats, cocoa, baking soda and salt
  • stir well. set aside
  • in small saucepan combine butter and chocolate
  • cook over low heat, stirring often. until melted and smooth
  • remove from heat and tranfer the mixture to a large mixer bowl
  • cool completely
  • add sugars to chocolate mixture and beat on medium speed until well blended.
  • add eggs and the vanilla beat until smooth
  • gradually add flour mixture beating well
  • stir in coconut and the almonds
  • cover and chill for 1 hour
  • Drop dough by the rounded tablespoonful onto an ungreased baking sheets
  • preheat oven to 350'F and bake for 10 minutes
  • cool 1 minute on baking sheet then tranfer them to a wire rack
  • cool completely if you can
