One of the guys at work brought this dish in and it was gone in just a few moments. Make sure you have a cup of coffee and an EMT standing by, this is to die for. LOL

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 apples, pared and sliced
  • 3 bananas peeled and sliced
  • 3 cups small bread cubes
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Directions
  1. Mix sugar, salt and cinnamon together.
  2. Combine with sliced apples and bananas.
  3. Brown bread cubes in butter.
  4. Fill buttered baking dish with alternate layers of bread cubes and fruit using bread for top and bottom layers.
  5. Cover dish and bake in moderate oven (375 F.) 30 minutes.
  6. Remove cover and bake 15 minutes longer, or until apples are tender

Yes...I made this tonight! It was very good! I only made some very slight changes. I doubled the cinnamon, I used 1 less banana, I baked them in 5 individual ramekins and I sprinkled the tops of each, with cinnamon sugar, before baking. The bread had a nice crunch and the fruit was perfectly sweetened. I topped it with whipped cream before serving, as you can see in my photo. This is a very nice light dessert!
