How to make it

  • Put flour in a dish and coat the chicken pieces & shake off excess.
  • Heat oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Add chicken in batches and fry until golden brown on all sides.
  • When chicken is cooked, remove from pan and set aside.
  • Add garlic to pan and cook until it is golden brown.
  • Add mushrooms and saute for 5 minutes.
  • Add onion and bell ppeppers and saute until the vegetables are soft, about 6-7 minutes.
  • Add wine and let reduce for 1 minute.
  • Add chicken broth, tomatoes, crushed red pepper, salt to tase, oregano, Worchestershire sauce and tomato paste.
  • Return chicken to the pot and bring the liquid to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • Turn down heat and simmer for 40 minutes.
  • Stir in fresh basil just before serving.
  • Serve with rice or pasta.
