Ingredients
  • 1 sleeve (about 24) saltines
  • 3/4 C. brown sugar
  • 1 C. butter
  • 12 oz. (2 C.) chocolate chips
  • 3/4 C. chopped nuts

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400°
  2. Line a cookie sheet with foil.
  3. Spray foil very lightly with cooking spray.
  4. Cover cookie sheet with saltines in one layer.
  5. Boil sugar and butter for 3 minutes.
  6. Pour over saltines and spread evenly.
  7. Bake 5 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven.
  9. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  10. Let set one minute, then spread melted chips with spatula.
  11. Sprinkle with nuts, then press down lightly.
  12. Cut on diagonal immediately or cool until firm then break up.
  13. Pieces can be frozen.
  14. Yields 30 pieces.

These are da bomb ! I used to make them ALOT back in the day when I was poor as dirt and couldn't afford to go out and buy anything sweet. They are SOOO GOOD !!! And you would never believe they are crackers unless you already knew it.


A coworker brought this to work one day - i thought i'd hate it - but I was SO wrong. These are too good to be made from saltines!


These were sooo good they deserved a photo!!!
