Traditional South African tart recipe given to me by my neighbor from that country.

Ingredients
  • 1 prepared graham cracker crust or make your own
  • 4 c milk
  • 1 T butter
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 T cornstarch
  • 3 T flour
  • 1 T vanilla extract

Directions
  1. In saucepan, bring the milk and butter to a boil
  2. Cream the sugar, eggs, cornstarch, flour and vanilla extract
  3. Add some of the hot milk to the creamed misture and then pour it into the pot and heat gently stirring constantly until it thickens
  4. Do Not Boil
  5. Pour filling into pie crust and dust lightly with cinnamon
  6. Cool in refrigerator until set

A very nice change of pace from cheesecake. The only change I made was using a chocolate crust, for personal taste. The tart got rave reviews at dinner last night. Thanks for sharing!!
