rdh14, I've served this two days after being made, keeps well. To tell the truth I personally haven't tried any imported mascarpone, it probably does taste nicer. J.

This sounds fantasic and easy...love the idea with the pound cake, too! I have found that using the imported mascarpone is much tastier than the domestic one. Price difference is about $2 but seems well worth it if you are going to have it stand alone, as in your martini glasses.
How far ahead can these be made?

I love this. I have done this with a pound cake sliced in thirds length wise and spread the Mascarpone cream then add fresh fruits and continue layering till top and then spread cream and finish with fruit. Was a hit at my Bridge Club. Thanks for the reminder. Welcome to the foodie! Got my 5.
