I love red beer! This will be my next one. Is that a salted rim I see?

Yeah...if you can get it, lime-flavored salt is best!

This looks very interesting. There's a bar in Chicago called the Twisted Spoke that's known for their Bloody Mary's - and this reminds me of. They are 1/3 part Guinness, 1/3 part Vodka, 1/3 part Bloody Mary mix with pepper and Tabasco to taste. They served it with a side of local beer in a rocks glass and the garnish was a meal in itself on a stick. = ) I look forward to trying this.

Hmmm...Guinness? I said Dark beer wouldn't work for this recipe because I didn't think it would. However, since Guinness is my favorite beer, I might give it a try. :)

Guinness will only work with the Vodka ; )

I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband liked it a lot! I made mine with Vodka and added celery salt! Plain Jane here... Had these tonight.

Celery salt would be an excellent addition... thanks for the comment!

Bookmarked it for my husband! Thanks...

Looks interesting! I'll try this one some evening.

Just wanted you to know... got a lot of our friends making these now... AND .. ME.. I don't like beer... BUT .. this is good! Thanks Sean!

No problem :)

I need to come up with some more South Texas Recipes...I've been on an Asian kick lately.

I just found this and am so pleased to have done so! I had my first Michelada in San Antonio a couple of weeks ago at Mi Tierra. After reading all the comments, I'll be giving the Guinness variation a try too! And for all you folks that like spicy - here in Maryland we rim our glasses with Old Bay seasoning. Yummy!

Hmmmmmm. Is noon too early for a cocktail? This looks great!
