  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 5 tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups crackers crumbs, finely crushed
  • 1 up coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • _____________________________________________________
  • ICING
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 3 tbsp. milk
  • 2 tbsp. vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups confectioners’sugar
  • 4 sq. Semisweet chocolate ( 4 0z)
  • 1 tbsp. butter

Directions
  1. Place softened butter, cocoa, sugar vanilla and egg in med. Bowl . Set bowl in pan of boiling water, stir well until butter has melted and mixture resembless a thin custard. Combine cracker crumbs, coconut and walnuts, blending well. Add to custard mixture. Pack evenly in 9x9x2”pan.
  2. ICING
  3. Cream the 1/4 cup butter and milk Vich has been combined with powdered vanilla pudding mix; blend in powdered sugar.
  4. Spread over filling , chill at least 15 minutes in refrigerador. Melt semisweet chocolate with the 1 tbsp. butter, spread on the custard icing.
  5. Cut into squares and chill. wrap and store in the refrigerador.

Danadooley, they are called Nanaimo Bars, and they originate in Canada, Nanaimo, British Columbia to be exact. Hence the name. Great shower dainties, very rich but oh so delicious. Can't eat but one little piece cause they are so decadently rich. Good post.
