Donna,I have never used the bottle dressing in this but I'm guessing you could use it and leave the water out.Sorry I'm not much help on this.

I made this with a Boston Beef Roast. I of course had to add stuff I had in the fridge. I cut up mushrooms and onions and put in the bottom of the crock pot and covered with half of the package mixes and the water. I then put in the roast and sprinkled on the remaining packaged mixes and about a teaspoon of instant coffee! I ground some fresh pepper, chopped some fresh parsley and left the house for a couple of hours. I then came home, threw in 2 potatoes and some carrots. It was delicious!

Mamajune-I've use bottled dessing before(Ital.)with some water to have it cover the roast. this only calls for 1/2 c.water I don't think what you asked will work. more like gravy in the end with this receipe.hope this hepls you. Nancy
