How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Combine dried fruits, water and 1/4 cup of maple syrup in a pot.
  • Heat, stirring, until thickened - 5-7 minutes. Cool slightly.
  • Combine remaining syrup and water, stir into remaining ingredients.
  • Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13x9" pan with lightly moistened hands.
  • Spread the fruit filling overtop the crust.
  • Crumble the remaining crust ingredients overtop the fruit.
  • Bake 25 minutes. Cut while still warm.

    I made these last night and they are terrific! I love the 'non-sweet' sweetness... does that make sense? Trying to cut way back on refined sugars, so this is a winner for me.
