Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats, uncooked
  • 1/2 cup grated onions
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ flakes
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbs. veg. oil
  • 2 Tbs. flour
  • 1 cup half and half (or heavy cream for a slight more creaminess)
  • 2 Tbs. drained capers
  • 2 Tbs. grated bell pepper
  • egg noodles

Directions
  1. Combine the wheat germ, beef, onion, egg, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, 3/4 cup of milk, oats, bell pepper, and shape into 36 meatballs.
  2. Brown the meatballs in hot oil
  3. Stir the flour into the drippings
  4. Add remaining milk and half and half
  5. Add salt to taste to gravy
  6. Add capers....and speaking of capers, start planning yours, honey!
  7. Cook slowly, stiring constantly, until thickened.
  8. Put meatballs in gravy and simmer
  9. Serve with or on noodles
