How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Layer half of the slices on bottom of buttered shallow 1 qt casserole dish
  • layer with half the onions, 3tbs cheese,half the whipping cream, half the kohlrabi leaves, half the salt and half the pepper(do you sense a pattern here:))
  • Repeat(big DUH)
  • Top with remaining cheese and bread crumbs
  • Bake covered for 30 uncovered for 15
  • If you don't know how to select kohlrabi here are a couple of tips!
  • Choose the smallest ones you can find, they should be free of cracks and fibers. Leaves should be crisp and green with no yellowing.

    This was FANTASTIC!!! I found some kohlrabi for super cheap at the market. Came upon this recipe and SO glad I did! This is packed with flavor and the kohlrabi was delicious!!     Thanks for the recipe - I have always been interested in Kohlrabi but never tasted it. I bought some seeds so I better try your dish before planting them, don't you think?
