Kicked Up Blue Cheese Spread

- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped red onion shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped toasted walnuts *** shopping list
- 1/4 cup pitted and coarsely chopped kalamata olives shopping list
- 1 large clove garlic minced shopping list
- 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese shopping list
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste shopping list
- Crusty French bread shopping list
- Seedless Red and green grapes shopping list
How to make it
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, gently warm the olive oil with the onion, walnuts, olives, and garlic.
- Do not bring the oil to a boil.
- Remove from the heat and cool for a moment.
- Place the blue cheese in an attractive serving bowl, then pour the warm oil mixture over the cheese and stir gently.
- Add pepper to taste, then let the mixture cool to room temperature. To serve, spread on bread.
- Serve the grapes on a platter alongside the spread.
- Guests are always shocked at how delightfully the grapes omplement the spread.
- *** To toast the walnuts, spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet and toast in a 350 degree oven until lightly golden, about 4 minutes.
