Brown Sugar Pound Cake

- 1 Cup shortening shopping list
- 1/2 Cup butter, softened shopping list
- 1 (1 Lb.)Box light brown sugar shopping list
- 5 Large eggs shopping list
- 3 Cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 teas. salt shopping list
- 1/2 teas. baking powder shopping list
- 1 Cup evaporated milk shopping list
- 1 teas. vanilla extract shopping list
- brown sugar Glaze: shopping list
- 1/2 Cup butter shopping list
- 1 Cup light brown sugar shopping list
- 1/4 Cup evaporated milk shopping list
- 3 C Powered sugar shopping list
- 1 teas. vanilla extract shopping list
How to make it
- Cake:
- Beat Shortening, butter and bronwn sugar at medium speed for 2 mins. until creamy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each.
- Combine flour, salt and baking powder; add alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in vanilla and pour batter into greased and floured 12 cup bundt pan. Bake @ 300 for l hour and 15 minutes or until long pick comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes and then remove from pan and cool on wire rack. Pour wam Brown Sugar Glaze over cake. Let stand 30 minutes until glaze is firm.
- Brown Sugar Glaze:
- Melt butter in medium saucepan. Wisk in brown sugar and cook 1 minute.
- Add milk, powdered sugar, vanilla; wisk until creamy. Remove from heat and immediately pour over cooled cake.
