  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

This is exactly the way my grandma and mother made it. That broiled topping is soooooo delicious...oh yeah. I am going to make this either today or tomorrow. It's been ages and I'm totally craving it now. Can't wait! Thanks, Krum sweetie!

The oatmeal cakes are almost alike but never tried the icing like that. I sounds good made like that.

I remember having these when I lived at home also, they are very moist and yummie. Deserves a 5

I never had oatmeal in cake before, muffins but not cake. I love the idea of the broiled icing/topping. I'm dying to see how it would look.

Just dropped by to say I made this wonderful cake and it was just as delicious as I remembered. Lordy, I do love that broiled topping. Thanks again, Krum...am leaving a picture for you. ~Vickie

The picture looks great! Now I need an event to make it for so I don't end up eating the whole thing myself.
