Braised Red Cooked Pork Over Rice

- 400 g of minced (ground) medium pork shopping list
- 1/2 red onion, diced shopping list
- 1 shallot, diced shopping list
- 1 clove of garlic, minced shopping list
- 3 tbsp soya sauce shopping list
- 1 tbsp rice wine shopping list
- 1 tbsp sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tbsp 5 spice powder (found in most asian grocers) shopping list
- 1 slice of ginger shopping list
- 1 tbsp oil shopping list
- 1 c water shopping list
- 6 hard boiled eggs, peeled shopping list
- 8 tofu puffs or fried tofu shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
- steamed rice shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil and brown onions, garlic and shallots.
- Add minced meat and brown slightly until 70% cooked.
- Add soya sauce, rice wine, ginger, sugar and 5 spice powder.
- Add eggs, tofu and water
- Bring items to a boil, cover, simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
- Spoon over rice and serve.
