Braised Red Cooked Pork Over Rice Recipe

Ingredients

400 g of minced (ground) medium pork

1/2 red onion, diced

1 shallot, diced

1 clove of garlic, minced

3 tbsp soya sauce

1 tbsp rice wine

1 tbsp sugar

1/2 tbsp 5 spice powder (found in most asian grocers)

1 slice of ginger

1 tbsp oil

1 c water

6 hard boiled eggs, peeled

8 tofu puffs or fried tofu

salt and pepper

steamed rice

Directions

Heat oil and brown onions, garlic and shallots.

Add minced meat and brown slightly until 70% cooked.

Add soya sauce, rice wine, ginger, sugar and 5 spice powder.

Add eggs, tofu and water

Bring items to a boil, cover, simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.

Spoon over rice and serve.
