Ingredients

2 cups sugar

2 cups water

2 cups flour

3 teaspoon baking powder

1 Tablespoon sugar

Pinch of salt

2 Tablespoons soft butter

1 egg

About 1 cup milk

Directions

Combine 2 cups sugar and 2 cups water; cook until dissolved and set aside.

Mix together flour, baking powder, 1 Tablespoon sugar, salt, and butter.

Beat egg and put in measuring cup, fill with milk to equal 1 level cup, then mix with above dry ingredients.

Roll out like pie dough.

Spread with apples and sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar, and a little nutmeg.

Roll up like jelly roll and score about 1 inch all the way across.

Place in oblong pan. Pour sugar water mixture over and bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

I would fill these with raspberry jam, which so happens I have some - I see a dessert in my future as of tomorrow! Yours, in fact!.... now 'bout the next time you go ahunting for some game... do remember to get me one... about 6 feet tall would suffice...
