My Southern Grandmother's easy pound cake. It's neither too sweet nor too greasy and the outside is delightfully crunchy. WE like it just for snacks but it works very well served with fruit.

Pound cake is so delicious! Such a southern comfort food. Thanks for sharing your grandmother's wonderful recipe. I know that you treasure it. :)

It's easy and there 's nothing unusual in it. The secret is to beat it to death before you bake it and if you bake it a little longer it won't hurt. We like this for snacks! It's not relatively sweet. Yes. This is probably the most-baked-cake in our family.

I love old recipes and this sounds like a keeper...I have never heard of testing the batter by dropping it in water (something to remember)

Yummy pound cake recipe and I love the story behind it. Thanks so much for sharing and I can imagine how good it must be with fruit. You've got my 5 forks.

This is about the easiest poud cake recipe I've seen. I will make it tomorrow. Sunday is my birthday.
