Summertime Cake

A wonderfully refreshing citrus flavor. Great for Summer!
Ingredients
- cake shopping list
- 1 lemon cake mix shopping list
- 1 3oz box of lime Jell-o shopping list
- 3/4 cup orange juice shopping list
- 3/4 cup canola oil shopping list
- 5 large eggs shopping list
- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ shopping list
- Glaze: shopping list
- 1/4 cup lime juice shopping list
- 6 tablespoons powdered sugar shopping list
- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ shopping list
- Frosting: shopping list
- 1 8oz package softened cream cheese shopping list
- 1 box powdered sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- Optional - chopped pecans between layers shopping list
How to make it
- Mix all cake ingredients together until smooth. (beat for about 2 min)
- pour into 2 9" cake pans
- bake at 325 degrees for 35 min or until toothpick comes out clean
- Cool and mix 1/4 cup lime juice with 6 tablespoons powdered sugar and drizzle over layers that have been pricked with a fork many times.
- let cool completely.
- Beat Cream Cheese and butter together, add vanilla, add powered sugar.
- Frost cake adding nuts between layers.
