How to make it

  • Apple pure:
  • Melt the butter with the sugar until sugar caramelizes, add the apples and the cinnamon and stir over medium heat until apples are soft, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to the bowl of your food processor and pulse until completely pureed. Cool
  • Beat eggs and sugar until light. Add oil, apple pure and milk; beat until smooth. Sift remaining ingredients together; stir into apple mixture. Chill for 2 hour. Transfer dough to a pastry bag fitted with the nozzle of your choice and pipe over the deep frying oil at 375 degrees until lightly browned. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with additional sugar.     What a great recipe! They remind me a little of churros because of their shape and how they are cooked but I think that the apples and cinnamon is a fantastic combination!

    Now that is a picture to make me DROOL first thing in the morning when I'm looking quickly at recipes before I leave for work!!! Fantastic, Ahmed - I must try these...we love fritters. And, as always, you made them unique with your pastry bag idea...love how they look!

    Im going to have to make these in the fall! They sound like a great treat on a cold day =)..of course with summer all most here I don't dare make them now..it's time to shape up!! Thank you for this great recipe and wonderful pictures as usual!!

    Great post Ahmed! This sounds almost like a recipe my grandmother used to make. She had 12 kids and a million (not quite but it seemed like it sometimes!) grandchildren and great grandchildren so she didn't have time to roll out the dough. She just dropped them by the spoonfull into the deepfryer. They came out all kinds of shapes but they were the best. Thanks for the memory!
