Chicken Gruyere with mushrooms

- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley shopping list
- 1 teaspoon dried dill weed shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter, divided shopping list
- 8 boneless skinless chicken breast halves shopping list
- 2 pounds fresh mushrooms shopping list
- 2 onions cut into rings shopping list
- 1 cup white wine shopping list
- 1 pound gruyere cheese shredded shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 F. In a shallow dish stir together flour, salt, pepper, parsley and dill. Rinse chicken breasts and pat dry. Dredge chicken in the flour mixture.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons butter over medium high heat.
- Place chicken into the hot buttered skillet and fry until brown on both sides. Transfer chicken to a 1 quart glass baking dish. Add remaining butter to skillet and fry the mushrooms and onion until wilted and slightly browned. Stir in wine and reduce heat to medium. Simmer for 3 minutes to blend flavors. Pour mushrooms over the chicken.
- Cover dish and bake for 20 minutes in preheated oven. After 20 minutes, remove cover and sprinkle with shredded gruyere.
- Continue baking for 10 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned and bubbly.
