Chuck Wagon Brisket

- 4-5 pound beef brisket shopping list
- liquid smoke shopping list
- worcestershire sauce shopping list
- celery salt shopping list
- garlic salt shopping list
- onion salt shopping list
- BRISKET SAUCE shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper shopping list
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice shopping list
- 1 small onion, chopped shopping list
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup catsup shopping list
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire shopping list
- 1 teaspoon liguid smoke shopping list
How to make it
- In Dutch oven, sprinkle the brisket lightly with liquid smoke, Worcestershire, celery, onion, and garlic salt
- Cover and refrigerate overnight
- Bake the brisket, covered at 275 degrees for 5-6 hours (can bake in the Dutch oven, or wrap in wide heavy duty foil before placing in a large shallow pan)
- When done, let cool for about 1 hour, then place in refrigerator
- After the meat is cool, slice thin (may then replace in refrigerator until ready to reheat or may pour the sauce over meat and reheat at this time)
- When ready to serve, just pour the sauce over the sliced brisket and heat thoroughly
- BRISKET SAUCE
- In saucepan, combine all the ingredients for the sauce
- Simmer for about 30 minutes
- Pour sauce over meat and heat in oven
