Vanilla Panna Cotta With Strawberry Sauce

- 1/3 cup skim milk shopping list
- 1 (1/4 ounce) envelope unflavored gelatin shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups heavy cream shopping list
- 1/2 cup white sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract shopping list
- fresh strawberries shopping list
- strawberry syrup (See recipe post) shopping list
How to make it
- Pour milk into a small bowl and stir in the gelatin powder, then set aside.
- In a medium saucepan stir together the heavy cream and sugar then set it on medium heat.
- Bring to a full boil (watch carefully; the cream will quickly rise to the top of the pan).
- Pour the gelatin and milk into the cream, stirring until completely dissolved.
- Cook for one minute, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in the vanilla and pour into six individual ramekin dishes.
- Cool, uncovered, at room temperature.
- When cool, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, but preferably overnight , before serving.
- To serve:
- Overturn ramekin onto dessert plate (dip momentarily in hot water to loosen the panna cotta).
- Drizzle with strawberry syrup and garnish with fresh strawberries.
