This is a quick and easy dessert recipe for summer picnics. It's addicting too. I would definitely recommend making it the day before and leaving overnight in the fridge if you can - the graham crackers become soft and flaky, more like pastry crust... More

Ingredients
  • 1 box regular or honey graham crackers
  • 2 - 3 oz packages instant french vanilla (or vanilla) pudding mix
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 - 8 oz container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 – 16 oz container prepared chocolate frosting

Directions
  1. Spray the bottom of a 9x13-inch pan with nonstick spray and line with graham crackers.
  2. In a large bowl, combine pudding mix and milk. Stir well. Stir in whipped topping with the prepared pudding.
  3. Spread half of the pudding mixture over graham cracker layer. Top with another layer of graham crackers and the remaining pudding mixture. Top with a final layer of graham crackers and frost with chocolate frosting. Refrigerate until serving.
  4. NOTES – Use the French Vanilla flavored whipped topping if you can find it (this is usually a seasonal item carried around the holidays). Also, use Betty Crocker Pour & Frost chocolate flavored frosting for a smooth top. Or, you can make a simple ganache by melting 8 oz of semisweet chocolate chips with some heavy cream and/or butter. The graham crackers become more pastry-like the longer this sits before serving (a few hours or overnight is best).

Love dishes with graham crackers. Thanks

This looks yummy! I was looking for something fast and simple for a Memorial Day picnic and I think this is it!

I know what you mean! Sometimes it's hard to come up with ideas for desserts for potluck picnics that others aren't going to bring - otherwise there is a table full of brownies, cupcakes, cookies, etc. I actually forgot all about this for Memorial Day - I'll have to make it for Fourth of July!

Heaven help me, this reminds me of Boston Cream Pie, one of my all-time creamy, gooey, chocolate-frosted faves. I'll have to try it with the fat-free, low fat ingredients so I won't feel too guilty when I indulge. And it looks so easy to make! Thanks!

Its really easy to make. In fact, I just whipped this together Friday night and we all had it yesterday. Yum, yum! When it sits overnight, it gets nice and set up for easier cutting and serving.

Made this up tonight and everyone really enjoyed it. It was easy to make and tastes great! I made my own ganache to go over the top with 8 oz. of semi-sweet chocolate and a cup of heavy cream.

Hi this is one Im going to make it looks totally sinfully nice

You're right - this is good when it's been sitting overnight or for a day - very light, and so easy to make. thanks!

My mouth is watering LOL

You can reduce the fat and calorie content on this by using low-fat graham crackers, sugar free instant french vanilla or regular vanilla pudding mix (I can find the sugar free instant french vanilla at Walmart Supercenter) and either "lite" or "free" whipped topping.
