I'm not saying don't grill or broil, frankly those are my two favorite ways to eat meat, but maybe making some minor changes can help. I realize these days almost everything is a "cancer" risk.

Thanks for the info. I used to work at a steak restaurant and we cooked all the meat on a flat surface, not a grill because of the carcinogens. I don't eat steaks but I do appreciate a good grilled BBQ chicken. Great post!

Hi Jen. Great post. Actually, I had heard about charred meats having carcinogens way back in college. I try to use techniques I have heard that helps reduce the risk. Raising your food up off the grate so that if it drips on the coals, the wind has a chance to disperse smoke from the flair ups is one. Thanks for the reminder... Jim
