How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Puree chickpeas, vanilla and water until very smooth. Set aside.
  • Cream sugars, margarine and shortening in a large bowl.
  • Beat in chickpea mixture.
  • Mix together flours, oats, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Beat into chickpea mixture.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Bake on ungreased sheets for 11-12 minutes.
  • Cool 2-3 minutes on sheets then remove to a wire rack and cool completely.
