Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray 3 8-inch square pans with Crisco No Stick Cooking Spray; set aside.
  • Prepare Pillsbury Lemon Cake mix according to package directions. Divide batter into thirds. Color each third with food coloring to make pale yellow, pale green, and pale pink batters. Pour batter into the prepared pans.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Cool for 10 minutes in pans on racks. Remove from pans; cool completely on racks. Trim edges and cut each layer in half to make 6 rectangles.
  • Spread 5 sections of cake with strawberry jelly. Stack layers alternating colors. Top with remaining section; turn so layers are up and down. Wrap and refrigerate while preparing the frosting.
  • For Frosting, combine all ingredients except food coloring. Beat until creamy. Blend in food coloring to color frosting a pale green.
  • .Frost cake.
  • Be sure to slice cake so there is a ribbon effect.

This looks beautiful and sounds just as yummy. I'm saving this one for a great Easter presention alongside all the colored eggs and Easter grass. Maybe not, I don't think I can wait that long to try this.
