Rainbow Ribbon Cake

- Crisco® Original No-Stick cooking spray shopping list
- 1 box Pillsbury® lemon Cake shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 1/3 cup Crisco® Pure canola oil shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- food coloring shopping list
- ------------------------ shopping list
- frosting shopping list
- ------------------------ shopping list
- 3/4 cup Crisco® All-vegetable shortening shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups powdered sugar shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract shopping list
- 2 or 3 tablespoons milk shopping list
- green food coloring, 6 drops shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray 3 8-inch square pans with Crisco No Stick Cooking Spray; set aside.
- Prepare Pillsbury Lemon Cake mix according to package directions. Divide batter into thirds. Color each third with food coloring to make pale yellow, pale green, and pale pink batters. Pour batter into the prepared pans.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes in pans on racks. Remove from pans; cool completely on racks. Trim edges and cut each layer in half to make 6 rectangles.
- Spread 5 sections of cake with strawberry jelly. Stack layers alternating colors. Top with remaining section; turn so layers are up and down. Wrap and refrigerate while preparing the frosting.
- For Frosting, combine all ingredients except food coloring. Beat until creamy. Blend in food coloring to color frosting a pale green.
- .Frost cake.
- Be sure to slice cake so there is a ribbon effect.
