Steamed Poppy Seed Bread

- 2 cups sifted cake flour shopping list
- 1 tbsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 3/4 cup whole milk shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 tbsp grated lemon zest shopping list
- 1/2 cup honey shopping list
- 1/4 cup melted butter shopping list
- 1/3 cup poppy seeds shopping list
How to make it
- Grease three 14-oz cans and put a large kettle of water on to boil.
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
- Beat together milk, eggs, zest, honey, butter and poppy seeds.
- Pour mixture into dry ingredients, beat well.
- Fill cans 3/4 the way full and cover tightly with foil.
- Set on a rack in a large pot., and pour boiling water 1/3 of the way up the cans.
- Bring water back up to a gentle boil, cover pot and steam 2 hours.
- Cool 10 minutes in cans before turning out onto a rack to cool completely.
